At Seed Yoga + Wellness our popular kids and teens yoga classes run by the term. These classes are designed to introduce young people to the calming effects of yoga, breathing practices and mindfulness.

KIDS YOGA

Our creative and fun Kids yoga classes include yoga postures, dance and movement to cultivate confidence, body awareness, strength and mobility. We explore breathing practices and mindfulness to build resilience, confidence and calm in the face of life’s challenges, and guided relaxation time (which is always everyone’s favourite part of the class!) to rest and reboot busy bodies and minds. With gentle and playful guidance, yoga and movement are explored inspiring imagination with a new theme each week.

To explore these life-enriching practices we use a variety of mediums to engage and inspire your child, including stories, games, music, creative movement, and crafty creations. A culturally diverse and rich variety of music genres and props will inspire your child’s artistic response and imagination. You child will come away from our classes feeling refreshed, recharged and ready to enjoy life to it’s fullest!

Thursdays 4.00pm - 5.15pm for Primary School Aged Kids. Classes are 75 minutes and run from 4.00 to 5.15pm. Parents are welcome to settle their children in, but we ask that you not stay for the session.

TEENS YOGA

TEEN YOGA WILL RETURN IN 2024**

Teens live in a stressful world and need a place to go to relax and live free of expectations. Teen yoga can provide that and more. Teen yoga can address the unique concerns and challenges faced by young people in a non-competitive and safe environment. And importantly, it’s a fun and carefree experience!

These sessions are for young people from 12 -16 years.

Benefits of Yoga for Teens:

Improve fitness and physical health, by developing a strong connection between body awareness, breath, and movement.

Reduce stress and anxiety, yoga provides an effective natural and safe outlet through breath and awareness

Improve focus and academic performance, by helping teens realise a sharper sense of concentration helping them mentally refocus on important tasks resulting in better academic performance

Improved body image and self-esteem, as the body goes through a lot of changes during the teenage years, yoga can help kids feel more connected to accepting of their body

Discipline and self-regulation, yoga helps in calming the body and mind which means children can learn how to control negativity. Yoga can help reduce impulsivity, increase patience, and improve the ability to regulate attention

Improved sleep, teens need more sleep than adults as it is a time the brain in undergoing development and lack of sleep may cause moods to fluctuate. Yoga’s combination of mindfulness breathing, movement and stretching can do wonders when it comes to improving the quality of sleep.
