Are you a beginner to yoga? Planning on coming to your first class at Seed Yoga? Congratulations! We have a range of classes, so you’re sure to find one that suits you perfectly.

Trying something new can be daunting. But please don't worry about being 'good' enough, or flexible enough or thin enough. Or whatever enough. You are pretty damn perfect just as you are.

Yoga is unique because you will learn to connect mind, body and breath, taking your attention inwards, becoming more aware of your experiences from moment to moment. The mindful awareness that is cultivated makes yoga a practice, rather than a task or a goal to be completed. Your body will most likely become much more supple by doing yoga, and so will your mind. We hope that you fall in love with yoga at first stretch, just as we did.

Where do I start?

It’s quick and easy to register online. We have an introductory offer of $50 for 30 days that allows you to dive in, try lots of classes and experience how great you’ll feel by practicing with us regularly. You can find out more about our pricing and sign up for the for the introductory pass here.

Most people start with a Slow Flow or Yin Class. Gentle Yoga is another perfect option if you are looking for a more chilled experience. We suggest you do not join a Flow class until you feel confident in these other classes.

What do I need to bring?

Not much. A yoga mat if you have one. A sense of curiosity and playfulness. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. We do ask you to bare your soles as we practice in bare feet. A water bottle and a towel.

Which class should I take?

All of our classes are mixed level. Read about our different classes and decide which one you’d like to try first. Most people who haven't tried yoga before start with a Slow Flow or Yin class.

What time should I arrive?

Plan to arrive 10 minutes early. You'll enjoy class all the more for feeling unhurried. We lock the door when class commences for security reasons. If you are late you will not be able to attend the class.

Before the class starts?

Before you start, we’ll ask you about any injuries or things you're working through so that we can help. We’ll remind you to turn off your mobile phone, the only buzz in our studio comes from your post-yoga euphoria.

During the class

Yoga is not competitive and you’ll learn to practice at your own pace, to listen and honour what your body tells you. If you need to back off from a pose, or skip it altogether, you're encouraged to do so. Expect to cut the world out, clear your mind and connect to your mat. No ego. No judgement. Let that shit go.

After the class

Yoga distills a sense of clarity that transcends the studio walls and goes with you back out into the world. Our yoga practice often begins the moment we step off the mat.

Do I need to worry about injuring myself?

We’ve seen the pictures of people doing crazy arm balances on the edge of a cliff, and it scares us too. But here at Seed Yoga + Wellness our nurturing and encouraging teachers are here to support and you, ensuring you develop a safe and solid practice.

What is the room temperature?

During the warmer months the studio is maintained at 21°C. During the cooler months we keep our yoga studio at a cosy 24°C.

Is there parking near the studio?

Need to drive to our studio? Easy peasy. There’s lots of two and four hour street parking in the streets around our studio.
