The sessions

8.00am – 8.40am: Opening Circle and Intention Setting (Lisa Allwell)

Let’s get set up for a day to energise and nurture ourselves. We’ll chat about how to squeeze the most juice from today’s event by reflecting on what we’d like to unfold by creating a strong intention. We’ll connect in with each other and then we’ll connect in with ourselves through a gentle breathwork practice to remind ourselves of the light and sparkle within us all. Lisa will then guide us on a little meditation journey to come home to our true self. https://vimeo.com/450402257

8.45am – 9.15am: A Journey through Sound (Eva Andrea)

Sound has been used by many ancient civilisations. Our ancestors were aware of the power behind the vibration created through voice and instruments as a way to connect within. Sound and mantra can help us to see beyond our individual needs, wants and desires to reconnect back to our true purpose.

Eva will guide us through the powerful Ganesha Mantra. Ganesh is the elephant headed deva and is the embodiment of wisdom and prosperity. He is the remover of illusions and obstacles. And 22 August is his birthday! After our chanting session, you will get cosy on the floor and be bathed in sound with Tibetan singing bowls and healing sounds to integrate the vibrational charge created.

9.30am – 10.30am: It All Begins with You. Yoga (Sharon Spencer)

These times we find ourselves in are asking us to dig deep, to cultivate an intimate connection with our heart-centred self to help us move from feelings of inadequacy to abundance, from comparison to oneness, from fear to love. Let’s remember how to express care and compassion towards ourselves in simple ways so together we can conceive a world that is inclusive, peaceful and heart-minded. It all begins with you!

Join Sharon for a beginner friendly yoga practice where you will explore:

  • Energy practices to soothe and clarify the nervous system.
  • Somatic movement to recalibrate and refresh a tense body.
  • Yoga postures to help you find your ground of support so you can rise and embrace all of you in a caring and compassionate way.

11.00am – 12.00pm: Mostly for Blokes. Yoga (Danny McGrane)

If you're a bloke, it's easy to find yoga intimidating. This feeling is understandable. As a gender, there’s a cultural push to make men work out hard, compete, and do sports that tighten us up instead of loosen us up.

Yoga can feel especially intimidating for men, studio classes are usually filled with women! This online session in your own home is a great way to try something new without feeling self-conscious. Yoga is not only transformational for our physical bodies, but an incredible tonic for our emotional wellbeing too. Expect to move through some simple stretching sequences, cultivate some strength and find calm. Perfect for runners and riders.

Join Danny, a former construction worker and now dedicated yogi. He gets it, and after this session, you will too. The hardest part is showing up: Blokes, you've got this! (Of course, women you can sneak in and join us too.)

12.30pm – 1.30pm: Cooking and a Conversation about Blue Zones (Meni Valle)

Author Meni Valle will show us how to cook some simple, nourishing dishes from her beloved Ikaria in Greece. Expect to be inspired to whip up your own nourishing culinary creations: soufico, a traditional vegetable dish and kolokitha pita, a rustic zucchini gallette with homemade filo pastry.

Ikaria is one of five Blue Zones, communities revered for practicing simple but profound lifestyle habits that help them live longer, healthier and happier lives. Find out their secrets as we cook up some delicious food and conversation.

Meni's latest book, Ikaria, published by Hardy Grant is due for release in September.

2.00pm – 3.00pm: Living from the Inside Out. A conversation (Lisa and John Mathews)

Join Lisa and John for an interactive session to unlock your hidden super powers to navigate through the unknown, by operating from the inside out.

  • Lisa will guide us through a gentle flow to unlock tension, clear the clutter and move us to a state of open spacious awareness.
  • John will guide us through a process to move from a fear based state to one of love, gratitude and power.
  • We will conclude with a sound meditation practice to deepen connection to ourselves, to each other and all that is.

Expect to be inspired and enlivened as we explore opportunities for connection both within and without.

3.30pm – 4.30pm: Awaken Your Senses (Taryn Ipenburg)

Join Taryn for an indulgent hour of self-massage and acupressure. You will learn to blend a delicious massage oil and body scrub using ingredients from your kitchen cupboard. You will be guided to use hands on techniques to support your body's natural ability to heal and feel fabulous.

In this session you will:

  • Experience how self-massage can enhance your feeling of wellbeing and calm.
  • Learn how to harness acupressure points in the body to release stress.
  • Engage your senses to evoke relaxation, joy and deep release.
  • An immersive experience that will leave you feeling at ease in your body + mind, and realigned to your true sense of self.

5.00pm – 5.45pm: Go with the Flow of Life (Vanessa Hollo)

This guided meditation, called Yoga Nidra is done lying down, so grab a pillow and a blanket and get cosy! Vanessa will lead you through a progressive relaxation called the 61 points. We will begin this practice with a simple silent chanting and breathing practice using the Sanskrit chant So Hum- I Am That, which allows us to connect with our breath and our collective nature: The breath of the individual. The breath of world. The one that breathes us all.

You will:

  • Silently shift from a state of thinking and doing to feeling and being.
  • Cultivate a deep state of calm.
  • Leave feeling rejuvenated and nurtured.

* Days for Girls is a not for profit organisation that raises funds to make washable, reusable menstrual care kits which are distributed to girls and women who lack access to reliable menstrual care solutions. This has shown to be one of the biggest barriers to girls completing their education in the developing world. Since 2008, Days for Girls kits have reached over 1.5 millions girls and women in more than 100 countries around the world. By providing women and girls with reusable pads (DfG Kits) and health education, DfG breaks down barriers and ensures that all girls have access to education, health, and success.
