Fight, flight, freeze! You’ve probably heard these words before, and no doubt felt them in your body. Anger, overwhelm, anxiety, becoming zoned out, numb & frozen are just some of the ways we might experience this.
These feelings & emotions come unbidden, you might feel out of control. This is nervous system dysregulation, also known as moving outside our window of tolerance.
Life demands that we are flexible, if we don’t bend, we will break.
It’s not always about a ‘calm’ nervous system - but a flexible nervous system. We need the ability to widen our ‘window of tolerance’. The flexibility to go from a heightened state and back to your base line. The ability to self-regulate.
If you’re one of many of us that feels constantly exhausted, while also somehow feeling wired/on high alert, it’s likely that your nervous system has been in that heightened state for a while now.
We can’t ‘netflix & chill’ our way out of this state - we need to feel into & acknowledge what our bodies are telling us.
You don’t have to feel like you are in a constant state of fog & fatigue or on the edge of burnout!
This workshop will give you a safe & supportive environment to:
Explore and/or come into contact with yourself.
Learn more about Somatics & how it supports nervous system regulation.
Foster acknowledgment & build relationship with the many parts of you.
Explore touch & sensation.
Experience deep restoration.
Be wholly witnessed.
There are no expectations in this workshop, this is a space for you to explore & be witnessed in ways you feel ready to attend. Somatics is not about force, but slow & loving attention to bring awareness to that which is present in you. Suitable for all - just bring an open mind and an open heart.

Rachel says: A yoga & meditation practice has always been something that has drifted in and out of my life when I needed it most. However, after spending 10 months travelling in France I reconnected with yoga again and I knew in my heart of hearts that this was something I wanted to dive into and explore completely. Movement has always been extremely important to me, having always done some form of sport or another throughout my life. The practice of yoga took things to the next level through the integration of mind, body, diet, breath and spirituality. I am particularly passionate about how the breath influences our entire being - our energy, hormones & mental state. I love the community that yoga creates; while it is an individual path for each person, it is also the thread that connects us all together.
Each time I practice I learn more about myself and it is a great joy to share that with others. I hope to bring my bubbly personality into each class, to challenge students to push themselves either mentally or physically - but also to encourage them to rest, restore & relax fully. I like to support people to move more intuitively or in a way that suits their body. I think now, in what is often a fast paced world, we need that Yin & Yang balance in our lives.
Ever a curious mind, my studies in yoga & meditation also lead me to explore Somatics. These body based practices intertwine beautifully with yogic contemplation & self enquiry. I completed a course with Scott Lyons (co-founder of Embody Lab) & really got to delve into both the simplicity and the power of Somatics & Embodiment. It is my hope to empower others to explore this curiosity & connection with their internal landscape. To discover this freedom & spaciousness within themselves.
