  • 1A Salisbury Avenue Blackburn, Vic, 3130 Australia (map)

"It is through the alignment of the body that I discovered the alignment of my mind, self, and intelligence.” " - B.K.S. Iyengar

Join Suellen Zhang for a deep dive into finding alignment within and without. This workshop will take you through a series of foundation yoga poses to help you to understand and establish steadiness, strength and ease. This will enhance your current practice and will set you up for a strong and integral practice on which to build.

In this workshop you will:

  • Explore the importance of alignment adjustment in yoga.

  • Build the foundations for a solid yoga practice.

  • Learn more about individual alignment in your practice; how to tailor poses to suit your body and to support any injuries you have.

  • Experience how your body would adapt into new path;

Develop a fresh understanding of the following key poses:

  • Surya Namaskar A+B (Sun salutations)

  • Virabhadrasana i ii iii (Warrior series)

  • Twisting methods

  • Backbends Ustrasana (Camel) or Bridge.

This is a mixed level workshop. If you are new to yoga it will help you to establish a strong foundation and to understand the ‘why’ of the yoga practice. If you are experienced, you will learn subtle refinements to take your practice to the next level. Expect to be gently challenged, to have fun and to leave feeling confident and strong.

About Suellen Zhang

I love to start my day with a slow yoga practice and I need some chili to end my day. I love to create dishes from a combination of cuisines, and I love watching my two cats play for the whole afternoon.  I love mountains and the smell of the forest. I enjoy rock n roll and jazz music. I believe life is a journey of 30,000 something days on the earth, we might as well just enjoy every moment while we are here. I will show you how to create a safe and aligned yoga practice, and we’ll have both fun and ‘ah ha’ moments along to way.
