Yoga Foundations with Geri Griffiths: A Four Week Course

  • 1A Salisbury Avenue Blackburn, Vic, 3130 Australia (map)

Get ready to take your first (or next) confident step onto the yoga mat.

This welcoming four-week course is designed especially for people who are curious about yoga and want to begin in a supportive, encouraging environment. Whether you're looking to build strength, increase flexibility, reduce stress, or simply feel better in your body, this is a gentle and inspiring way to start.

What you’ll love about this course:

  • It’s beginner-friendly. No previous experience needed, just a willingness to move, breathe, and explore at your own pace.

  • It’s perfect if you have injuries or limitations. You’ll learn options and modifications for comfort and safety.

  • It’s holistic. You’ll learn foundational yoga poses (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), simple meditations, and a taste of yoga philosophy—so you understand not just how, but why yoga works.

  • It includes yin yoga. Slow, soothing yin postures will gently stretch the deeper connective tissues and leave you feeling relaxed and recharged.

  • It’s empowering. You’ll build the confidence to join other classes and continue your yoga journey with greater ease and enjoyment.

  • It’s informative. There’s time to ask questions and learn how to modify the practice to suit you.

Each week, we’ll explore:
🧘‍♀️ Breathing techniques to calm the mind and energise the body
🧘‍♀️ Warm-up movements and simple sun salutations to support joint health and mobility
🧘‍♀️ Standing poses that enhance balance and build strength from the ground up
🧘‍♀️ Gentle backbends and forward folds to awaken spinal mobility
🧘‍♀️ Seated and yin postures to slow down, release tension and cultivate stillness

YOUR GUIDE, Geri Griffiths

Before yoga and meditation found me (or maybe before I finally let them in), I was 10 years deep in the legal industry: chronically sleep-deprived, anxious, and running on fumes.

From the outside, it looked like I had it together. On the inside? I was burnt out, dysregulated, disconnected from my body, and hanging by a thread.

I tried everything.

Productivity hacks, wellness apps, even lavender oil in my pillowcase (yep). But nothing stuck.

Until I slowed down enough to try what I’d always brushed off as “not for me.”

Yoga and meditation changed everything.

And not because I became a green smoothie person (I didn’t). But because they gave me back my breath. My sleep. My nervous system. My self.

I wasn’t always the calm one in the room. In fact? I used to be the exact opposite.

So I made it my mission: to make yoga inclusive and accessible for all. Not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and logistically.

These days, I especially love guiding beginners. There is something really special about meeting people at the very start of their yoga journey, when everything is still new and honest, and helping them build a practice that feels safe, simple, and genuinely supportive rather than overwhelming.

The beginner course is where that intention really comes to life.
